James Pile

Professor Emeritus of Art. Pile was educated at the University of Nebraska. He taught at the ASU School of Art from 1971 – 2006. Pile is the recipient of several awards and honors including a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artists Fellowship in Painting (1987); an Honorary Diploma from the Universidad de Sonora in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico (1972), and a Frank Woods Fellowship (1971). His work is in many public collections in the United States and Mexico, and has been featured in numerous one-person and group exhibitions, including those at the Bernice Steinbaum Gallery, New York; the Bronx Museum of the Arts Satellite Gallery, Hunts Point, Bronx, New York; American Academy and Institute of Arts and letters, New York; the Tampa Museum, Florida; the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, Arizona; and Casa Vallarta, Universidad de Guadalajara. He is represented by the Udinotti Gallery in Scottsdale.
