10 Watts College educators receive fall 2021 academic promotions
Nine tenure-track faculty members and one lecturer of the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions have received promotions to new academic ranks, effective this August, Dean Jonathan Koppell announced.
“These deserving faculty members have demonstrated the ability to advance the college’s mission on all dimensions. As educators, they provide our students with the tools and skills to make a difference in our communities,” Koppell said. “As scholars deeply engaged in our communities and focused on addressing our shared challenges, they demonstrate what Watts College is capable of doing through constructive collaboration.”
Three associate professors are advancing to the rank of full professor:
- Kate Fox of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ)
- Chris Herbst of the School of Public Affairs (SPA)
- Lela Williams of the School of Social Work (SSW)
Six assistant professors are advancing to the rank of associate professor with tenure:
- Stacia Stolzenberg of SCCJ
- Eric Legg of the School of Community Resources and Development (SCRD)
- Lily Hsueh of SPA
- Mary-Ellen Brown of SSW
- Hyunsung Oh of SSW
- Katie Stalker of SSW
Additionally, Jamie Valderrama, previously a lecturer in the SSW, was promoted to lecturer, senior.
