Hultsman honored with Founders' Day award
Wendy Hultsman, director of undergraduate programs and associate professor in the School of Community Resources and Development, is being honored at Founders Day with the Faculty Achievement Teaching Award. On the faculty for more than 20 years, Hultsman's students frequently praise her for a hands-on approach to learning. She describes herself as someone who avidly goes beyond being a “4 x 2” teacher (four walls of the classroom and two covers of a book).
The Arizona State University Alumni Assoication hosts the annual Founders' Day Awards dinner, this year slated for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, 2400 E. Missouri Ave., Phoenix.
The award ceremony has been a signature event for the university for decades, and honors individuals who exemplify the spirit of the founders of the Territorial Normal School of Arizona, ASU’s predecessor institution, which received its charter from the Thirteenth Territorial Legislature on March 7, 1885. As part of the celebration, ASU President Michael M. Crow will provide an update on the university.
