Inspiring the next generation of public service leaders

We attract an impressive faculty engaged in use-inspired, high-impact research. Solutions often require work that gets out of academic silos. While our disciplines are diverse, our common ground is clear: social work and criminology share strong links in the cycles of victimization and criminality that must be broken; vibrant urban centers require efficient administration and public participation as much as safety and economic vitality. Through interdisciplinary, applied research, we are developing solutions to pressing issues ranging from child welfare to neighborhood safety, city management to human trafficking, and water scarcity to tourism development.
