Pastor Center for Politics and Public Service

Thank you for joining us at our 10th anniversary celebration!

We are honored to have celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Pastor Center and the Civic Leadership Awards Luncheon with more than 250 attendees. This milestone event reflected Congressman Ed Pastor’s vision and legacy, and we were privileged to recognize the contributions of Alberto Olivas, Founding Executive Director of the Pastor Center; longtime Pima County public servant, Dan Eckstrom; and Valley Metro, a leader in advancing public transportation.

With the support of 19 event sponsors and 10 ASU partners, the luncheon was both an inspiring reflection on the past and a reminder of the importance of collective leadership in shaping the future. We extend our sincere gratitude to all who joined us in celebrating this special occasion.

Congressman Ed Pastor

For more than four decades, Congressman Ed Pastor was a guiding star in the field of public service for Arizonans. Growing up in Claypool, Arizona, Pastor was the first in his family to graduate from college, and he used that education to change his own life and better the community. As a teacher, director of a nonprofit organization and ultimately the first Mexican-American congressman to represent the state of Arizona, Pastor left an indelible mark on both the local community and the national political landscape.
