The Center for Emergency Management and Homeland Security (CEMHS) is a university-wide interdisciplinary hub for the research and practice of emergency management and homeland security. The Center's work addresses ongoing risk reduction challenges characterized by complex social, economic environmental, cultural, and technological interdependencies and conflicting objectives.

Joshua Loescher takes to heart the universal truth that education is a great equalizer.

Senior Master Sgt. Joshua Loescher is the spring 2019 outstanding interdisciplinary graduate for Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions. Loescher’s appreciation of access to education as a universal phenomenon grew when he saw how Iraqis and others struggled to learn what American military firefighters were assigned to teach.

Russell Pablo is taking his passion for service to the United States Secret Service

After eight years of military service and 24 months’ worth of graduate school condensed into one grueling year, Russell Pablo will be moving on to a new career as a special agent with the United States Secret Service. Pablo is the outstanding graduate for interdisciplinary programs in Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University.
