A Countdown to Summer: Hainan to Hawaii

“A Countdown to Summer: Hainan to Hawaii” was the final celebration in our “East Meets West” IDEA mini-grant series.  

Under the guidance of Dr. Kimberly Peterkin and Dr. Adriana Szabo, student volunteers hosted a lively end-of-semester event in the courtyard. They unleashed their inner mixologist as they served six colorful tropical beverages inspired by island flavors.

Over 200 students and faculty members joined the festivities. With hibiscus flowers in their hair and garlands swaying in the breeze, attendees enjoyed refreshing drinks and took advantage of vibrant photo opportunities. The event showcased the creativity, hospitality and teamwork of our student leaders, bringing the series to a joyful close and highlighting the cultural connections fostered at HAIC throughout the year.
