Paul E. Jackson
(English; Affiliate Member) Jackson was born in Indiana and grew up in Phoenix after his family moved there following World War II. Jackson attended what was then Phoenix Junior College, going on to graduate from ASU in 1959 with a major in journalism. After spending five years bouncing between advertising and television in Phoenix and New York, Jackson returned to his alma mater to pursue a Ph.D. in English. He began painting as a hobby in 1970 when his wife Jane, who had just finished a Ph.D. in physics, gave him an oil painting set as a graduation present. While teaching in South Dakota, Jackson also worked with water colors. Jackson most enjoys landscape painting, especially in the desert.
