Lou Weschler

Professor Emeritus of Public Affairs. In the 1950s Weschler worked as a part-time illustrator and landscape painter in southern California. During his doctoral studies in political science at UCLA, 1960-64, he painted and sold several paintings in the style of Abstract Impressionists. He ceased serious painting in 1966 and returned to it upon his retirement from ASU in 2000. Since he returned to painting, Weschler uses acrylic paints and inks to produce naturalistic and abstract works. His current efforts include paintings, prints and mixed-media pieces. All of his work is in private collections.
