Spring 2021 master’s in social work graduate Edeline Plaisival has spent her time as a Sun Devil inspiring others to pursue education, both in her role as a management intern for Access ASU and as a proud parent to an 8-year-old daughter.

There were some silver linings to the panic and scramble of redirecting an in-person event with hundreds of registrants to an online conference held in March 2020. Thanks to the virtual format for Arizona State University's Social Embeddedness Conference for the last two years, the recorded sessions are now available on-demand for staff, faculty, students and community members to access.

In a year that has put a glaring spotlight on America's long and troubled history with systemic racism and social injustice, ASU President Michael Crow announced a commitment in fall 2020 to contribute to a national agenda for equity, diversity and inclusion and accelerate meaningful change throughout the ASU community.
