Anne Larason Schneider Faculty Endowment for Community Research


 

 

A Call for Proposals

Anne L. Schneider served as Dean of the College of Public Programs from 1989-2004.  To honor her leadership and service, this endowment was created in her name. 

One award of $2,500 is available for tenured and tenure-track faculty in the Watts College of Public Service & Community Solutions. Professors who are involved in community research, meaning research that touches the community locally and globally, are eligible.  The potential impact of the research on the community is the single most important criterion for selection.

Application materials should be submitted to Kellie Martin by Monday, Feb. 13 at 5pm.

Other details:

  1. The $2,500 must be spent within one year, by March 2024, and can be used for salary supplement, research expenses including research assistance, travel, conference fees, and other similar uses.
  2. Faculty who are on sabbatical next year are not eligible.
  3. Applications are submitted to Kellie Martin at [email protected] by Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. Application materials should include:
    1. A one- to two-page proposal.
    2. One publication that exemplifies past community research.  (Assistant professors may submit an unpublished paper if no relevant publications are available.)
    3. A current CV.

The winner is announced at the all faculty/staff meeting on March 28, 2023
